Managing multiple email accounts can be a hassle, but Gmail’s powerful features let you centralize your Bluehost email account within its interface. This guide provides easy-to-follow steps to import your Bluehost email into Gmail, enabling you to send and receive emails from one platform.

This is how it looks like once you have completed the steps

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

  • A Bluehost email account (e.g., yourname@yourdomain.com) with its password.

  • A Gmail account to manage your Bluehost emails.

  • Access to your Bluehost control panel to retrieve server settings. You can get the required details from Bluehost (Settings > Advanced > Cpanel > Mail accounts)

The mail client settings looks like below

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Log in to Gmail

  1. Open your web browser and go to Gmail.

  2. Sign in with your Gmail account credentials.

Step 2: Access Gmail Settings

  1. In the Gmail interface, click the Gear icon in the top-right corner.

  2. Select See all settings from the dropdown menu.

Step 3: Navigate to Accounts and Import

  1. In the Settings menu, click the Accounts and Import tab.

Step 4: Add Your Bluehost Email Account

  1. Under the Check mail from other accounts section, click Add a mail account.

  1. In the pop-up window, enter your full Bluehost email address (e.g., yourname@yourdomain.com) and click Next.

Step 5: Select POP3 Import

Choose Import emails from my other account (POP3) and click Next.

Step 6: Enter Bluehost Email Settings

  1. Fill in the following details:

Username: Your full Bluehost email address (e.g., yourname@yourdomain.com).

Password: The password for your Bluehost email account. (Reset it in Bluehost if needed.)

    1. POP Server:

      • Without SSL: Use mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your domain).

      • With SSL: Use your server’s hostname (e.g., box1234.bluehost.com). Find this in your Bluehost control panel under Stats > Expand Stats.

    2. Port:

      • Use 110 for non-SSL.

      • Use 995 for SSL (recommended for security).

  1. Check the following options as needed:

    • Leave a copy of retrieved messages on the server (to keep emails on Bluehost).

    • Always use a secure connection (SSL) (if using port 995).

    • Label incoming messages (to organize Bluehost emails with a label).

    • Archive incoming messages (to skip Gmail’s inbox).

  2. Click Add Account.

Step 7: Set Up Sending Emails (Optional)

  1. Gmail will ask if you want to send emails as your Bluehost email address. Select Yes and click Next.

  2. Enter your name (as you want it to appear in emails) and check Treat as an alias (recommended).

  3. Click Next Step.

Step 8: Configure SMTP Settings

  1. Enter the following:

    • SMTP Server:

      • Without SSL: mail.yourdomain.com.

      • With SSL: Your server’s hostname (e.g., box1234.bluehost.com).

    • Username: Your full Bluehost email address.

    • Password: Your Bluehost email password.

    • Port:

      • 25 for non-SSL.

      • 465 for SSL (recommended).

  2. Select Secured connection using SSL (if using port 465).

  3. Click Add Account.

Step 9: Verify Your Bluehost Email

  1. Gmail will send a verification email to your Bluehost email address.

  2. Access the email via Bluehost webmail, another email client, or Gmail (if already imported).

  3. Copy the verification code and paste it into Gmail’s verification field.

  4. Click Verify.

Step 10: Set Default Sending Address (Optional)

  1. Return to Settings > Accounts and Import.

  2. Under Send mail as, find your Bluehost email and click Make default.

You’ve successfully integrated your Bluehost email with Gmail! Gmail will now fetch existing and new emails from your Bluehost account, and you can send emails using your Bluehost address directly from Gmail. This setup streamlines email management with Gmail’s organizational tools like labels and filters.

It will look like this
